Literature Text
You held onto the paper with the instructions on where to find the history section. As weird as it sounds, you actually had a paper to submit on the Viking age, specifically in Denmark. It was due in a few weeks, but getting started a little early wouldn't hurt, would it?
You smiled to yourself as you walked around the shelves, locating where the books were. You were also interested in the Vikings for quite a while, and were simply elated when you had found out that your professor assigned it to you. Even though it was due in a few weeks, here you were, ready and eager to at least read up on it.
Okay, so maybe you were a little bit excited on writing that paper, but hey, at least you were being productive, rather than just playing the Lost Vikings on your recently unearthed PS1. You scanned the shelves, eyes discerning which book to use for references. As much as you’d like to get a number of them, you knew that you could only take few with you at a time.
The moment you looked to the top of the shelf, which was several inches above you, you noticed a tall man with familiar wild blonde hair pass by. You felt your heart skip a beat as your eyes widen. Of all places, he’s here?
By him, meaning your crush, Mathias Køhler.
‘Mathias!’ You called, not so loudly as to not disturb those who were around, yet very courageously. Even if you had that teeny-weeny crush on him, it didn't change the fact you guys were good friends.
Said tall man whipped his head in surprise, immediately looking for the source of the voice that had called out to him. He had just reached the aisle separating the rows of bookshelves, and with his frantic movement, he looked a bit goofy doing so, causing you to giggle.
‘Over here you idiot!’ You called out once more, this time whispering hoarsely. He looked over at your direction as he spotted you grinning.
‘Hej (Name)!!’ He whispered hoarsely back as you giggled. He made his way towards you, ignoring the looks of some of the people whose attention was caught from both of your greetings. He ruffled your hair, something he always did when he saw you, and you groaned.
‘Heeeey~!! Mathias!!’ You said in a hushed tone, ‘I just fixed that earlier…’
‘Whatever for? You look fine whether your hair’s fixed or not anyway.’ He said with a wink as you felt your cheeks heat up once more, and you averted your gaze.
This Dane just had to say something to make you die a bit inside.
As you inwardly grumbled about how cheesy he was (though you secretly liked it), while he on the other hand was stifling his laughter. He loved the way you would bit your bottom lip in frustration, as your eyebrows furrowed. It was this expression that you held that made him chuckle, but you took no sign of this, since you were so busy trying not to give yourself away.
Yet it was those little things you do that would make his heart flutter, and make his smile wider than it would ever be. Lukas even teased him that he looked like an even bigger idiot nowadays, smiling to himself every now and then, to which Mathias would retort.
How could he not smile when thinking about you?
'So (Name), what're ya reading?' He asked as he leaned to the side, trying to catch the title of the book you were holding, except you hid it behind your back.
'I could ask you the same thing,' you said as you studied him closely. 'You're usually not at the library during free afternoons such as this.'
'Nuh-uh, I asked first.' He replied simply as he stuck his tongue out and walked behind you, swiftly taking the book you were holding. 'Vikings?' He asked, looking at you with amusement.
You nodded. 'Thought I get started with my history paper about the vikings, since I had nothing better to do.'
'You chose this topic?' He asked as he smiled at you and you nodded at him.
'I haven't been able to read up on it, but the thought of it is so fascinating!' You said happily as you turned towards the shelf. 'Problem is, there's so many references... I don't know where to start.'
'You know, I could always help ya out…’ You looked at him to see him sheepishly rubbing his neck. You instantly beamed at him. You knew the Dane knew a lot about the Vikings, and as much as part of you wanted to ask for his help (to *cough* spend time *cough* with him *cough*), didn't want to bother him.
‘Oh Mathias, I couldn't possibly do that,’ You stated as you gave him a small smile. ‘It is my paper after all.’
Little did you know that the Dane felt bad, thinking to himself that maybe you didn't like him the way he did, and that was the reason why you rejected his offer. Determined to change your mind, he moved to stand in front of you as you tried reaching for your potential resources.
‘Uh… Mathias? You’re kinda blocking the shelf.’ You said as you were about to grab the book, when he picked it up and lifted it above his head. ‘Heeeeey!!’ You whined as he chuckled. Seriously?!
‘Not my fault you’re short.’ He stated simply as you pouted, eyebrows furrowing once more.
‘Not my fault you’re tall!!!!’ You retorted, puffing your cheeks as he bit his bottom lip, trying to stop himself from laughing.
‘Geez (Name), why do you have to be just so God damn adorable?’
‘Huh? Wha—‘ Before you could react however, he leaned down and captured your lips with his, as it took your mind quite a while to process what was going on. And then it hit you—He was kissing you. Mathias Køhler was kissing you.
Holy shit.
He pulled away before you could enjoy it, making you feel slightly disappointed. He looked at you with a cautious face, thinking that you were probably going to get mad for what he did, or worse—reject him.
‘Ah, (N-Name), a-about-th-that-uh—I can explain.’ He stuttered while he watched you staring blankly at him, when you grabbed his necktie a bit harshly, gripping it tightly as he felt the fear overwhelming him.
‘N-now (N-name), I know Lukas t-taught you h-how to choke me when you’re mad, b-b-but I-I think violence isn't the answer and—!!’ He quickly tried to defend himself from the possibility that you would choke him the same way your Norwegian friend did.
‘Oh shut up.’ You said as you pulled the necktie, making bend as you kissed him. Surprised, Mathias’ eyes widened, but responded quickly, smiling as he kissed you back. He wrapped his arms around you right away as he swiftly pulled you close, making you gasp as he took this chance to slip his tongue in your mouth.
You instantly melted in the kiss, feeling your legs weaken from the adrenaline rushing through your veins. He pulled away to chuckle before kissing you once more, tightening his grip and making sure that you wouldn't fall out of his arms while yours went about around his neck. For sure, he was never letting go of you.
After what seemed like hours, you both pulled away the smallest distance possible, while he rested his forehead on yours.
'Jeg elsker dig, (Name)’ He quietly said as you tightened your arms around his neck, pulling him closer as you smiled.
‘I love you too, Mathias.’ You whispered as he kissed your forehead.
‘You have no idea how long and how much I've wanted to do that.’ You giggled as you leaned against him and nodded.
‘Same.’ You said as you kissed his cheek.
‘Want to get something to eat?’ He asked you as you nodded.
‘I’d like that. I’ll just check these books out.’ You said as he nodded. ‘I’m sure that it wouldn't hurt to postpone it for a day.’ He chuckled in response.
‘But, Mathias,’ you began as he looked at you. ‘About that paper,’ He took the book that you were reaching for and the other book you were holding. He held your hand, leading you towards the check-out counter. ‘Does that offer still stand?’
He smiled, briefly kissing you on the forehead once more. You looked at him, gazing at his dashing blue eyes watching you. He gave you his winning smile as you felt your cheeks' temperature rise.
‘I was going to help you anyway even if you didn't ask.’
---Extended Ending---
'So... You never answered my question.’
'Hmm? Which one?'
‘Why were you at the library? You usually don’t go there.’
He froze as his cheeks turned red, as you tilted your head cutely. ‘Mathias?’
‘Uh…’ He began as he gripped your hand tightly. ‘About that… well, Lukas told me that you’d be there today.’
‘Lukas?’ You repeated. ‘How?’ You then remembered that he had texted you earlier, asking you about the history paper (since you both were classmates), and you had replied saying it was due in a few weeks, but you were at the library trying to start. That’s when he replied that you were studious, and had wished you the best of luck in writing it.
You looked back at your boyfriend, raising an eyebrow. ‘Lukas, huh? Real sneaky.’
He chuckled as he pulled you closer to him while you both walked towards the café nearby. ‘I’ll have to thank him for that. He gave me the chance to make you my queen.’ He said before kissing the back of your hand.
You felt your cheeks turn red as you playfully nudged his arm. ‘You’re so cheesy.’ He pouted, pretending to be sad. You quickly kissed him on the cheek, tiptoeing a bit just to reach his height.
‘But you’re my cheesy king.’

The Vates and Viking- Norway x Reader (1)
Okay, here is my new fanfic idea and for my own sanity it won't be as long as the last. I will clear a few things up. Firstly in the title if I am right a Vates (I think it's pronounces Vay-tez) is an old Irish term for a seer or prophet but why use those words when I can have alliteration! Secondly Norway is just Lukas in here and he is just a normal person, as are any other countries mentioned and they will be referred by human names. Now onward to le story. Maybe some rude language, but nothing too bad up ahead.
(Your POV)
For the, what it seems, millionth time in the past hour you throw four of your runes into the air praying for a differ

Whether _____ would admit it or not, she was not a morning person. She always came into class half awake, having barely slept the night before. While Matthias would be texting her at three in the morning for homework help, _____ would be doing something like reading for fun, which always confused him, but she actually seemed to enjoy doing it.
